From first meeting Mr Agrawal through diagnosis, surgical procedure, post operative treatment and subsequent surveillance he has provided both my husband and I with reassurance through difficult times with his calm, caring, friendly and professional approach. He has always been available for us at short notice when concerns have arisen and we could not be more appreciative of his ongoing support.

Mr Agrawal performed my mastectomy and reconstruction following my diagnosis of breast cancer. The care and expertise was, and continues to be, second to none. I am always reassured at my follow up appointments that there are no signs of recurrent cancer and Mr Agrawal always takes the time to ask if I have had any problems and if I am feeling well.

I was seen today by Mr Agrawal, I couldn’t recommend him enough. This was my first consultation who has now filled me with confidence, reading up previous reviews and his personal write up confirmed this all for me. A comfortable experience, without feeling pressured into anything. I hopefully will be seeing him again soon.

Mr Agrawal was my surgeon for a recent breast cancer lumpectomy. When I came to receive my results he was friendly, with an air of calm and trustworthiness about him. I had a list of questions which he patiently answered, making sure I understood everything I was being told.

Profile

As a fully trained Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, I carry out regular diagnostic fast track breast clinics and a full range of breast surgery, including sentinel node biopsy with intra-operative analysis, oncoplastic surgery and breast reconstruction. I also have a special interest in and undertake surgery for skin cancer.

I graduated from the London Hospital Medical College, University of London. My general surgical training was based around several centres of excellence in managing breast diseases, including The Royal Marsden Hospital where I developed oncoplastic techniques to optimise the cosmetic outcome of breast surgery.

I have always been interested in cancer surgery, and as part of my higher surgical training at the University College London, I was awarded a master's degree for my research into Gene Therapy for the prevention and treatment of cancer.

In 2007 I was appointed Consultant Surgeon at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. I have been the Clinical Lead/Head of department for the Breast and Endocrine Surgery and Surgical Oncology department for Portsmouth for over 10 years. I have also chaired and lead the Breast Multidisciplinary Team at Queen Alexandra Hospital for over 7 years.
I am the Surgical Lead for breast screening cancers and also the Joint Regional Lead for breast cancer for Wessex. I am the Lead Trainer for the Portsmouth National Oncoplastic Fellowship Program and have helped many trainees develop their skills for their consultant career.
